In 1927, Marcel BOSQUET gave his name to a private company located in ARRAS, FRANCE. The idea was based on mechanical intervenings, particularly in the surrounding plants of the region. The oil department was created in 1931, period during which the company began to produce spare parts for continuous screw presses.
In 1957, the limited company “MARCEL BOSQUET S.A.” was created: it had to face an important request by many oil milling plants in FRANCE. In 1965 LA MECANIQUE MODERNE was created in order to assert itself as a major supplier of screw presses in the world of oil milling. The creation of the new company was rapidly followed by the manufacturing of its first screw press in 1966.
Then, LA MECANIQUE MODERNE specialised into the manufacturing of all equipment for all oilseed and almond treatment, for all kinds of capacities. At the beginning of the seventies, the company turned its activity to the export market, in particular to AFRICA, with the development of cotton seed treatment, or other tropical product(s).
n the mid seventies, due to high customer demand, LA MECANIQUE MODERNE decided to adapt screw presses for the treatment of meat products, in order to obtain animal fat. Thanks to the success of this product, a whole range of equipment, complementary to the original press was proposed.
The beginning of the eighties was marked by the recovery of the company by the son of its creator, Michel BOSQUET. The aim of the company during this decade was to develop other fields of activity in the area of continuous pressure.

The nineties were marked by the continuous research of commercial partners all over the world. So, LA MECANIQUE MODERNE answered in the best way, and especially as fast as possible to the request of potential customers. The team assures a constant follow-up of all the manufactured equipment, especially screw presses of which there are more than 300 in use all over the world.
LA MECANIQUE MODERNE, first manufacturer of continuous screw presses in FRANCE, offers to its customers not only new equipment, but also complementary machines and all spare parts for their own and other machines, in the same areas of activities.
Settled since 1993 in a new plant in an industrial area, Michel BOSQUET took advantage of the opportunity to modernize his plant. LA MECANIQUE MODERNE has a work force of 75 people, for a turnover of about height million euros. Sixty to seventy percent of this turnover is for export.

Directly implicated in new technologies, our design office has the means to meet your most specific requests. We offer a custom-tailored solution adapted to your production. All the equipment thus designed is submitted to testing and perfecting on the site.

These studies and realisations are carried out in close collaboration with university and research centres.

In order to associate the theoretical knowledge gained since its creation to the practical, LA MECANIQUE MODERNE equipped itself with an experimental station for tests that allows all the simulations to extrapolate in the industrial scale.

This sector includes all the stages of treatment of a real industrial unit :
   • hulling of seeds and separation of shells ;
   • crushing ;
   • cooking preparation ;
   • squeezing, high and low pressure ;
   • filtration ;
   • etc.…

LA MECANIQUE MODERNE manufactures all its equipment in its workshop in ARRAS, FRANCE. This plant, one the best equipped of the region, includes a wide range of machines with digital operated tools:
   • milling of frame and cages for screw presses ;
   • line of manufacturing of pressure screws and knives ;
   • turning for the manufacturing of rings, shafts and sleeves ;
   • oxygen cutting of steel sheets ;
   • Bending of frame of thermical conditioners and cookers ;
   • pressing for stages of cookers ;
   • automatic welding ;
   • automatic armour plating of pressure screws, rings and bars;
   • cylindrical grinding for pressure screws and rings ;
   • flat rectification for bars and knives;
   • automatic straightening for screw press bars ;
   • etc.…

The organization of the machine tools allows an easy adaptation to the requirements of the customers in order to answer their needs, especially during the period of cleaning or maintenance of their unit of treatment.
A specialists' team controls the quality of the manufacturing according to French standards in order to give best price and delivery time.

LA MECANIQUE MODERNE includes among its staff a specialists' team able to finalize the assembling either in the workshop or on site. This team intervenes at several levels :
   • assembling of the various parts which make up the equipment ;
   • first assembling in workshop of all or parts of complete units ;
   • assembling on site of complete units ;
   • training of the staff user for the good working of equipment and for maintenance;
   • etc.…

These various missions are realized in close collaboration with the study office in order to assure the customers that the equipment corresponds to their wishes.

LA MECANIQUE MODERNE offers all spare parts not only for its equipment but also for those present in the same areas of activity :
   • Bars and knives ;
   • Pressure screws and rings ;
   • Shafts of screw press ;
   • Mixers for vertical cookers ;
   • Shafts of cookers, dryers, sterilisators ;
   • Filtration linens for plates filters ;
   • Various mechanical spare parts ;

The spare parts department remains at the entire disposal of its customers for the expertise of wearing parts for repairing or for the study of the performance improvement of the units of treatment. The department proposes :
   • A free permanent phone assistance ;
   • The putting into place of fast intervention on site ;
   • The putting of important means into operation ;
   • Etc.…
