Shelling machine

Shelling machine

The operating principle and performance of this crusher allow a suitable mechanical preparation of various kinds of seeds (for the oil milling industry) and for crushing many other special materials (organic products).

Description

The shelling machine is a rotating machine, the manufacturing is based on casting, mechanical welding, light sheet metal and mechanical engineering.

      It is formed mainly from the crushing system which may be associated with a feeder. Both are positioned and driven between two supporting members by a set of bearings. The power needed for crushing is supplied by a main control unit. The feeder, if fitted, has its own drive unit.

      It is all aligned and clamped to a framework which supports the crusher in its working position.

      Various covers and steel plates complete the machine.

Functionning

The shelling machine consists in acutting effect between two parallel edges; one edge belongs to a fixed knife, the other to a knife rotating rapidly.

      To achieve the desired performance, it is merely necessary to increase the number of fixed knives on the one hand and moving knives on the other, and to adapt the power required carrying out the work. However, the gap between two successive knives, whether fixed or moving, and the play between stationary edges and rotating edges are equally decisive factors in determining the result.

      The number of knives and the gaps between them cannot be modified on a given unit. However, the operating play between the rotor carrying the moving knives and the stator carrying the fixed knives is a parameter which can easily be adjusted mechanically.

Vertical cooker

vertical cooker
Description

The thermal cooker consists on a vertical cylindrical body equipped by heating plates. A central shaft mixes the products at each stage.

      This set is controlled by a gear box. It is installed in the upper part.

      The products is conveyed to the upper part of the equipment and pass successively at each to another by gravity. A pneumatically-controlled hatch regulates the flow rate depending on a level of seed pre-selected at each stage.

      This system allows a self-regulated way by the output of the extractor or feeder to be installed under the equipment: any output's variation is automatically reflected on the input of the cooker without any intervention of the operator.

      Each stage is equipped with a stainless steel inspection door with false door enabling opening full stage to make a visual inspection or to take a sample, for example. Following the layout, we can supply an equipment with unlined hatches and according to the customer's wishes.

      A set of light and well-adapted catwalks allow an easy access to all stages.

Horizontal cooker

Description

The aim of the cooking is to heat the oil cells of seeds and to improve the working of the press.

      The precision of the thermal conditioning will determine the quality of extraction by pressure.

      To obtain an homogenuous heating, the rotor is equipped with specially shaped arms which continually agitate the material.

      The water evaporation and extraction of excess moisture are facilitated by agitation of the material.

Option steam cooking
Option steam cooking

The cooking is assured by the steam passage in the double skin, controlled by the expansion post and fitted out of the necessary taps and drain cocks. The control is assured by the pressure reading on a manometer and the temperature of the products is indicated by the pressure gauge.

      For the drying, a stainless steel pipe with adjustment valve has to be fixed on the evacuation hole of the vapours.

      A boiler works with pressure at 8 bars, tested to 10 bars, in standard version for an adapted capacity to the horizontal cooker.

Option electrical cooking
Option electrical cooking

The cooking is realized by means of a heating fluid circulating in the double skins. The heating is obtained by means of electrical heating pins of 6 kW each one, which number is variable according to the cooker type.

      The set is regulated by means of a temperature controller: any particular control is required to the workers.

      The seeds pass through the cooker which works with a constant level. The cooked products are extracted from the cooker by means of a feeder with various speed.

      The product level in the equipment is controlled by a special electrical contact which prevents any overflow and stops automatically and momentarily the general feeding of the unit.

Screening tank

Screening tank
Description

The screening tank has a very good using for oil separation, grease and all other products which can be treated by static settling. Sediments are collected and send to the vertical cooker for a recycling in the screwpress.

      It is important to note that the screening tank does not work by sifting and so, the quantity of thin sediments does not increase the liquid part. This problem occurs by the using of sifter with shearing.

      The screening tank allows the first separation of sediments but also:
• the connecting with one or several screw presses;
• the recycling of sediments;
• the connection with a system of drying of press products.

      The screening tank includes:
• the static settling;
• the continuous separation and evacuation of sediments;
• the storage of the liquid part;
• the relief of the equipments of final filtration.

Working

Schéma de séparateur à grilles

The screening tank is made like a parallelepiped tank equipped at the top by cuneiform bars on which settled products have to be drained. The liquid part into the equipment is extracted from it by overflowing while settling sediments are collected into the opposite part of the overflowing for recycling in the screwpress.

Mixing tank

Cuve d'homogénéisation
Description

It allows the link between the press and the filter.

      The mixing tank allows the storage of the oil and regulates the oil flow of the equipments.

Working

Oil falls in the mixing tank dragged by gravity or pumped.

      To stop any bad effect (as settling) for the success of the filtration, it's equipped with specially mixing arms which continually and slowly mix the oil.

      In order to make easily the filtration, it is recommended to maintain the oil at a constant temperature in the mixing tank (use a heater or insulate this tank).

Vertical oil filter

vertical oil filter
Description

The vertical oil filter consists of a cylindrical vat made of steel sheet of high thickness. The filter includes at its upper part a cap with a locking mechanism by tipping bolts of high section and an opening system by manually driven hydraulic jack leading to the filtering elements inside the vat.

      At its lower part, valves door driven by a pneumatically jack is set up allowing extraction of the filtration cakes.

      The filtering elements are set on a manifold which collects the result of the filtration at their lower part. They are kept in position at their upper part by a bar with braces.

      This bar is equipped with a vibrating device which can be operating to unstuck the dried filtration cakes.

      The filtering elements are made of a draining bore in stainless steel assembled between two filtering wire gauze. The whole is held by a frame.

Working
The cycle of working consists of:
• Filling up;
• Clarifying ;
• Filtration ;
• Draining ;
• Drying ;
• Amounting.

Plates filter

Plates filter - 16 plates version
Description

The plates filter is made up of a set of plates, between which are located polypropylene linens which act as the filtering element.

      The impermeability of the filter is granted by means of filter plates, during the tightening.

Plates filter

Working

Crude oil charged with sediments is pushed by a pump and enters at the central part of the filter. It passes through the filtering plates, so getting ride of sediments which are found trapped in the spaces between the plates. The maintenance of the filter is limited to its periodic cleaning and usual checks (valves, pressure gauge).

      The clarified oil exits by means of a tube located in the base of the set; at this level, the oil is collected.

      It is advised to set up upstream a buffer tank in which the oil will pour during the removal process; this allows a non stop working and to avoiding the production stop.

Safety and polishing filtration

Description

The safety and polishing filters are located after the filter plates or the vertical filter in order to catch the last impurities and to correspond to specific quality standards.

filtre securité
Safety filtration with bag filter

The bag filter for a safety filtration is located after the main filter. The filtration velocity depends on viscosity (temperature) and type and amounts of solids.

filtre securité
Polishing filtration with cartridge filter

Polishing filtration with a cartridge filter is done after the bag filter. Here very fine particles are removed to reach the required final product quality.

      The cartridge filter consists of a multiple cartridge filter housing and filter cartridges from wound cotton.

Cooler for cakes

Cooler for cakes
Description

The cake cooler is intended to adapt the temperature of the product for the storage.

      The equipment allows a very good thermic exchange, due to the absence of "dead zones".

      Level sensors allow the regulation of product in the equipment. The feeder distributes uniformly the product in the heat exchanger.

      The bottom of the cakes cooler is equipped with drilled patches.

Cooler for cakes regulation

Working

The working is based on drainage by gravity of the product in the frame of thermic exchanges. The cool air is sent in against current, of the bottom upward.

      The volume of unloaded product remains function of the volume of the product which is introduced. This regulation allows a complete discharge of the cakes cooler, by the time defined by the operator. A pneumatic system regulates the evacuation of the product by opening and lock of trapdoors, in the base of the equipment.
