Advantages

   • Weak investment
   • Good oil quality, directly using after filtration
   • Weak quantity of phosphor in oil
   • Good quantity of proteins in cakes

Disadvantages

   • Performances depend on seed variety, moisture and temperature. The using of a pre heater or dryer is advised in order to obtain steady results.
   • No possibility of sediments recycling because it is increasing the residual oil in cakes.
   • Oil has a temperature lower in cold pressure than in hot pressure. Oil is so thicker. It is advised to forecast a pre filtration before the filter (vibratory screen or screening tank) and a bigger capacity of filtration.
   • The high level of Residual oil in cakes (ca. 12%) reduces their conservation time.
